About us

The Painted Turtle Restaurant is located at the Dutch Lake Resort & RV Park in the heart of the small community of Clearwater, BC.  We are just off the Yellowhead Highway #5 approximately half way between Edmonton, Alberta and Vancouver, BC. 

"Greek" John has joined us for the 2012 season.  John brings with him over 30 years of experience in the kitchen. We are looking forward to new entrees to add to our already popular menu.

2012 will be the second season as head cook for Clearwater local, Matthew Carmichael.  Matthew received his diploma in Baking and Pastry Arts at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in Vancouver, BC.  Part of this program included a Foundation Level Wine Certification and Food & Beverage Operations Management, which covers effective menu planning, inventory control, costing and various food operations. This course has provided Matthew with a well rounded knowledge of the hospitality industry and kitchen operations.

Matthew’s positive attitude and natural talent have proven that he is up for the challenge as head cook and manager.  We look forward to having Matthew lead the Painted Turtle team. 

The Painted Turtle menu will continue to focus on local and regional product, seasonal produce and fresh ingredients.
